Alberto Jahsie is a songwriter, singer, guitarist, arranger and producer. He also plays percussion and bass. He was born and raised in Salvador/Bahia, Brazil. Being a self-taught musician, Jahsie also took some free intensive courses at the University of Bahia, learning about the instruments of an orchestra. Salvador is the biggest 'African' city outside Africa, established during the brutal colonial period.

First Song Release

In July 1996 Alberto Jahsie released his acclaimed debut album DIGNIT?. It was recorded in Paris, Berlin and Brazil, with the musical collaboration of Rui Braga on keyboards, Lazaro Negrume (Gilberto Gil, Olodum) on electric bass, Jose Carlos on drums, and other prominent musicians. Produced by himself and Heidrun Kippenberger.
Before settling in London, Alberto Jahsie lived in various European cities such as Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin. MIND YOUR MIND is the title of his current album that was recorded in London with, amongst others, a performance by Victor Mensah (Osibisa) on keyboards & soundengineering and Pamela (John Lennon) on backing vocals.
